Lagom Kul — The app that helps you joke in Swedish

"Everyone can laugh, but not everyone can joke in the same language."

Understanding Swedish humor can be tricky for people whose first language isn't Swedish and who are new to the country. With Lagom Kul, they can generate classic Swedish jokes, get a translation, and read an explanation of the punchline.

The app works on both mobile and desktop and is designed for all ages. The project was developed as part of a collaboration between UX design students and Java developers, where we as UX designers were responsible for the idea, concept, and design. After the joint effort, we continued refining the interface in the Visual Design course.

Lagom is a very Swedish word meaning "just the right amount," and kul means "fun," so the name loosely plays on "just the right amount of fun."
